This diploma is perfect for anyone who wants to learn the fundamental skills to become a competent body massage therapist. It is a great starting point for a career in holistic and complementary therapies as body massage will give you the basic skills needed, and it is often a pre-requisite for more advanced courses. You will be able to offer body massage as a stand-alone treatment or as part of a package. You will learn the fundamental skills to offer a professional and effective treatment. This diploma course is suitable for those with no previous body massage experience. It’s also ideal for those who currently practise other therapies where basic body massage skills would improve your treatment and give you more confidence. Ideally, you will have a keen interest in anatomy and physiology. (A&P). You may already be pursuing a separate qualification in A&P or already possess one. During the course and via zoom, we will cover all necessary A&P theory.

A regular body massage has become a necessary part of life to help us to destress, remove tension and keep the body supple and flexible. It’s benefits are widely recognised and it is used across industries and professions to help to improve the circulation, detox the body, treat sore and tight muscles and ultimately help us to relax and unwind. Becoming qualified in body massage will enable you to help people destress from their busy lives, give you the foundations to go on and learn more advanced disciplines such as Indonesian Massage, Lymphatic Drainage and Sports Therapy and also build a new revenue stream.

Following the course you will be:

• Able to work as a professional massage therapist upon passing your case study assessments.
• Fully confident in how to price, promote and carry out a professional treatment.
• Able to gain full insurance and professional membership.
• Be able to take advanced courses such as aromatherapy, sports massage, Indonesian and Thai massage and pregnancy massage 

Many therapists go on to study advanced forms of reflexology such as Reflexology for Fertility and Lymphatic Drainage through Reflexology.

Entry Requirments

You must be over 18 years of age and have a good level of understanding of spoken and written English. 

You should have a keen interest in anatomy and physiology and further learning in this area.

Ideally, you will be committed to self-improvement and on-going learning in your chosen discipline.

Assessment Process

You will be required to complete a total of 14 case studies. We specifically require 7 separate clients who have 2 treatments each over the course of 3 months maximum.

Your completed case studies should be submitted within 6 months of the course.

Qualification Attained

You will gain a Diploma in Swedish Body Massage accredited by the Complimentary Medical Association (CMA).

With this diploma you can obtain insurance through Balens and Westminster Insurance
